If you
are unsure whether my clothing items will fit your dolls, let
me show you the differences I have noticed through the past few
years.

Barbie
dolls were introduced at the 1958 Toy Fair and were available
on store shelves in 1959. From that time until 1999, her body
remained relatively unchanged. This is what I refer to as the
Classic Body.
As time went on, it was decided that her unrealistic figure should
be tamed down a bit, and the Belly
Button Body appeared on the store shelves in 2000. This
body is also used for the popular My Scene Barbie who has
a larger head.
Both the
Classic and Belly
Button Body dolls can wear my fashions. Just pull the
velcro a little tighter on the Belly Button version, she is a
little smaller in the chest.
Now there
is a New Girl on the
block, she is shorter, smaller in the shoulders and hips and some
have larger feet. Some of my fashions will fit her, like robes
and nighties, but anything that is fitted in the bodice and waist
will be too large. These doll bodies are found on the Beach Glam
Barbie, Barbie Mariposa Dolls, and High School Musical Fashion
Dolls. Anyone wanting items spacifically for this newer doll should
contact me by phone or email to make sure the item can be made
to fit this doll.
There
is also a Silkstone Barbie on the market now. This
is a hard vinyl doll with a porcelain feel, and is bought mostly
by collectors. She is also smaller than the Classic
and Belly
Button Body
dolls.
I hope
this information is helpful. If you have any further questions
about the doll sizes or about a spacific fashion doll, please
don't hesitate to email Jan@JansDollBoutique.com
